Epaminondas Farmakis is the President and C.E.O. of elpis S.A. (www.elpis.org.gr) Mr. Farmakis has managed over one billion euros of grantmaking funds to more than 1,150 NGOs. He has extensive experience in project management, event management, and security services working with consultants around the world and collaborating with renowned professionals and leaders in their fields such as architect Renzo Piano and his team at RPBW.
He is also the Director of the EEA Grants NGO Programme in Greece, for the implementation of which he collaborates with the Bodossaki Foundation. A frequent speaker, Mr. Farmakis has been profiled and interviewed regularly in media.
Mr. Farmakis holds a B.S. from Washington & Lee University and an MBA/MSFS from Georgetown University. Areas of expertise: Foundation development, foundation governance, strategic planning, family/intergenerational philanthropy and office services, asset management, role of the philanthropic sector, and management of effective grantmaking based on results.
